Summary

Porcupine Campground is praised for its beautiful, clean, and well-maintained sites, offering great privacy and stunning views of Turnagain Arm. Many visitors enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, scenic drives, and access to nearby hiking trails. Some drawbacks include limited facilities like laundry and showers, as well as overgrown sites affecting views, but overall, the campground is highly recommended for a quiet getaway in nature.

Nice campground. Clean vault toilets. Sites are spaced out so not right on top of each other. The waterfront sites were still very buggy (flies everywhere) even in mid-September- would definitely advise bringing a screen house.

The campground is great. Spots are private. Hope Point is worth the hike!

Nice little campground, sites fairly separated. Can see the ocean from some of the sites.

Site was too short for our trailer. Contacted on-site host, told us two site numbers that were "un-reservable" #9 & #19, he said take your reserved tag and put it on the one you choose from these two, #9 was available but strangely it had a "reserved" tag on it twith a start date of the next day. I was confused as to why a Non-reservable space would have a reserved tag on it. So we went to him again and he said that he had the numbers wrong, should have been #6 & 19! Well we lost our space, that we may have been able to make work with some maneuvering but someone moved into it while we were trying to figure it all out! So long story is we only got to camp the one night but paid for three nights because of a misunderstanding and confused camp host! It was a long drive for us to just stay for one night especially when we booked months in advance.

Nice campground but spaces too narrow to include slide and steps. Did not stay

The campground has a nice paved loop that seemed to work well for kids with bikes. Many of the sites had RV/vehicle parking separated from the picnic table/fire ring area - something to be aware of if you like to hang out under your RV awning. We stayed at site #10 and it was overgrown with cow parsnip. There was a clearing large enough for our tent, but not much else. There wasn't enough flat area for a canopy and we couldn't hang a trap or hammock since there was only one tree on the site. The sites further away from the water had more trees and looked to be better situated for a larger camp setup. Trash and beer cans in the fire ring when we arrived and no toilet paper in the bathroom throughout our stay. Great view of Turnagain Arm from where the vehicle was parked, but the overgrowth prevented you from seeing anything from the actual campsite, which was down a small hill from where you park. A momma bear and cubs had been frequenting the area, including consecutive days leading up to and including our trip. I appreciated that the bear sign at the entrance was updated with dates that the bears were sited at the campground. Numerous piles of fresh bear droppings around our site, coupled with being surrounded by overgrowth, did not make for a comfortable setting.

The spots are very small and the speed limit is 10 mi an hour, unfortunately no one follows that limit. The campground needs more speed bumps to ensure safety.

Very nice quiet campground. We were just here for an overnight. We parked the camper then drove an hour to Whittier for the day. No laundry or shower here. Pit toilets were not too bad. We had breakfast at the local restaurant before leaving. Husband had biscuits and gravy. Said they were the best he had ever had. I would recommend this for an RV stay over.
