It was so peaceful, went fishing. Caught a few fish, saw some beer and had great weather.

I am frustrated with the online renting process. The campground was nearly empty but if you ask the front gate they are booked full. Something needs to be done to help give a better incentive for cancelling last minute so others can rent and ones who cancel can get more than a few dollars back.

Even with the new road upgrades, the roads are still very narrow in places. Camp sites are the same with no electric or water. You have to fill your water tank just after the check in gate. Dump site is directly across the street.

Campsite 6 was a great site. A path to the river was just across the street. There was a potable water spigot right at the site to fill buckets. Site was a little difficult to back into, but we made it work with our 37ft fifth wheel. Verizon service was 2-3 bars. Overall great campground!

Russian River and Quartz Creek campgrounds are my favorite spots to camp at Cooper Landing.
Russian River campsites often have great views of the mountians. The way they laid out the campsites at RR is awesome, the sites are relativly close to each other but arranged to allow a good deal of privacy. Oh and the water from the spigots is GREAT!

From Anchorage, Alaska, travel south for 110 miles to Milepost 54 on the Sterling Highway, Alaska State Highway 1.
The campground is accessible via the Sterling Highway (Alaska State Highway 1), located approximately 54 miles south of Anchorage.
Elevation: 104 feet
54 mi drive to downtown Seward (about 1 hr 11 min)
Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
