Shearwater Cove

Shearwater Cove is truly breathtaking! From the boat ride in to the yurts to the outdoor showers and common spaces it’s incredible! My husband and I stayed for a couple days on our honeymoon and we had the most amazing time! We went sea kayaking, took a nap in the yoga common area with the sun beaming on our skin, saw so many sea otters, salmon, and plenty of other wildlife and sea creatures. Our host Cooper was so very kind, we even had a bonfire at one of the islands across from shearwater cove! It’s amazing here and you have to stay! The yurts are so cozy and even when we had a day full of rain outside we cozied up in our yurt with some tea and the sound of rain. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Love love love this place! :)

We had an incredible time at Shearwater Cove - despite the rain! The location is unbelievably beautiful and I was blown away by the amount of work they've put in to build Shearwater. The owners and staff were all great. Jason picked us up from Seward and gave us the lay of the land on the way to the Cove. Cooper was an exceptional host. Emily took us back to Seward and stopped to let us watch an otter on the way. We loved kayaking around to Humpy Cove and Fox Island. They kayaks and safety equipment were in great shape and the whole setup was so easy to get out on the water. Thank you Shearwater Cove!

Every moment of our stay at Shearwater cove was incredible. We got picked up by Capt. Rachel on our way out to the property. Rachel was so kind, fun, and gave us amazing stories about her community in Seward. We were greeted by the serene cove and our amazing host, Cooper. I don't think you could as for a better host in someone than in Cooper. He is SO nice and hard working, and did so much to make our stay in Shearwater cozy and FLAWLESS. He was so great at helping us get familiar with the sea kayaks, and gave great recommendations on where to fish and take our kayaks out. The property is stunning, and the perfect place to step away from it all and relax in comfort and peace. The amenities were far beyond what I could have imagined - HOT showers, cozy heating, everything you'd need in a kitchen, and games to keep us entertained. The hiking trails were also amazing to check out: views, tide pools, and the stunning creek that runs through the property. The wildlife we saw was also totally incredible: bald eagles, the resident sea otter, salmon runs, river otters, and sea lions. We stayed in both types of Yurts: Original and Premium during our time at Shearwater. We loved how cozy the Original yurts were, but enjoyed that the premium yurts could host larger groups of people (and the awesome covered patios). All of it was incredible, but without a doubt getting to chat with Cooper made the experience above and beyond. We hope to be back, and will definitely recommend a stay at Shearwater Cove to anyone and everyone!

I don’t have enough good things to say about our stay at the Yurts at Shearwater Cove, this place is absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty, serenity, and thoughtful touches throughout the property. The yurts themselves are cozy, clean, and beautifully designed, with breathtaking views in every direction.

Our hosts were incredible, warm, informative, and genuinely kind. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us great tips for exploring the area.

During our stay, we saw sea otters, seals, fish, and other wildlife right from the deck and while paddling around the cove. We hiked the surrounding trails and discovered a gorgeous waterfall tucked away. Every moment felt like something out of a dream.

Yes, it’s a bit of a splurge, but worth every single penny. This was hands down our favorite part of our trip to Alaska, and I only wish we could have stayed longer. If you’re on the fence - go. You won’t regret it.

This trip was the most amazing experience. There is so much to do and not near enough time. We stayed for 3 nights which gave us just the right amount of space to relax while exploring everything Shearwater has to offer. From beautiful scenery to activities to explore, I would come back again and again. Charity was our host during our stay and I can not say enough good things about her. Her hospitality, knowledge of the area, and peaceful soul made us feel incredibly welcome. The sounds of nature inside our yurt gave us the best sleep and the SHOWERS 😍 I've never had a better shower. The mix of the crisp outdoors matched with a perfectly temperatured hot shower *chefs kiss*. I could have easily stayed another day just to enjoy the peace that's held in this cove.
