We had the best four nights stay RV campground at Talkeetna Lake Retreat and left there having made new friends! It all started with Jessica’s welcoming greeting when we arrived and ended with goodbyes to the family before leaving. What a nice job this family has done and developing this little campground! Large, nicely spaced, level sites, each with an umbrella in the table and a propane fire ring -you bring your own propane bottle. Outdoor games and a group fire pit, complete with fire wood, are available. A great outdoor shower and changing rooms. A lovely little lake with great walking trails. And lots more! They say it’s a work in progress, and we think what they have accomplished to date is exemplary. It is located right off the Parks Highway, so is about 14 miles from Talkeetna.
When we were unable to find anyone in the area to watch our dogs when we were on 5 to 6 hour excursions out of Talkeetna, the family came to our rescue and provided us with most attentive doggy daycare ever! They sent pictures of our little dachshunds taking walks and sitting attentively for reading lessons and a bit of World War II history! Too cute!
Highly recommend!!

We arrived at the RV park and were greeted by Jessica and her husband. Jessica showed us around and made us feel so welcome. The setting is idyllic if you crave beautiful surroundings with a slow pace of life. Nothing was too much trouble and the qwerky features (outside showers available) are amazing. The beautiful lake has boats, kayaks and paddle boards available at no extra cost, including life jackets for all ages.
Thank you Jessica for a perfect stay. We just wished we were able to stay longer.

We had a wonderful stay! The hostess was extremely friendly and pleasant to interact with. Even though we spent two rainy days there, we still had a great time because there was so much to do on the property – from relaxing in the sauna, enjoying the clubhouse with Wi-Fi, to borrowing kayaks. Highly recommended!

Our family loved camping at the Talkeetna Lake Retreat. The campgrounds were spacious and the facilities well kept and clean. We especially enjoyed the hot tub add on and the convenience of the propane fire pit.

The owners are still doing work on the campground, but it is already a wonderful place to stay. It is away from the crowds of downtown Talkeetna, but close enough to easily drive downtown (or bike if you’re up for a 28 mile bike ride). We biked the 2 miles in to Denali Brewing and it was the perfect ride. Our site was a good size and was level for our camper. The lake front is a nice place to relax with the option to rent boats and play on the water. Jessica, the host, is wonderful! She was available if we needed help with anything and we enjoyed chatting with her. The booking process was easy on the website. We look forward to camping there again!
