What Guests Are Saying
The Mallard Slough Cabin has a broken stove that can be used with some effort, and the old plexiglass windows obstruct the view and need replacement. Improvements such as additional coverage for the front deck would enhance the experience. While some minor maintenance is needed on the trail, recent conditions appear manageable.

Cabin stove is still broken but works okay if nursed along. Plexiglass front windows are old and frosty making the view obstructed; they need replaced. Sure would be nice if it could be figured out how to add some more coverage over the front deck so there can be a dry place to stand when it's raining. Somebody had left food in the cabin and the mice had a hay day. There were not any new trees down on the trail across to Cheliped Bay, just the 20" blowdown from last year. We cut out a few of the smaller down trees with a handsaw.

We liked this cabin quite a bit. We came in and left on an 18 foot tide, which made navigation easier and we did not have to climb out of the muddy slough banks, which will be the case on tides below 16 feet. There is a rough trail behind the cabin that takes you over the peninsula to the bay on the opposite side.

You can only get in and out of this cabin at High Tide. But the cabin is well kept, Oil stove worked well. We hiked the trail out across the Muskeg, but didn't make the Bay. View from Cabin is great.
