The hosts were exceptional and kept the grounds beautifully well groomed.
It’s great that the entrance to Sunset Crater National Park / Wupatki monument were right next door.

Bonito Campground offers a great camping experience with well-maintained facilities, spacious sites, and friendly hosts. Reviewers highlight the cleanliness of the restrooms and the campground's peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for exploring nearby national monuments. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful when we had questions. The flush toilets restrooms were very clean and a nice touch!

quiet, serene, sniff of ponderosa despite the smoke passing nearby. It is recovering well from its own fire and closure.

Being able to camp so close to Sunset Crater and Wupatki meant prime wildlife viewing at dusk and dawn (especially elk) and uncrowded trails. Campground was in pristine condition.
Really appreciated the roominess of site 31. Plenty of space and not on top of the neighbors.

Nicely spaced, paved campsites that are mostly level. Potable water spigots are available at the restrooms but no spigots to fill RV tanks. These are all dry camp sites with no hookups. Tent camping is available.
The campground is located within a grove of ponderosa pines and is one of the cleanest campgrounds we’ve ever been to. Everything from the fire pits to grills are spotless. The restrooms are equally clean and surpass any truck stop restroom.
The hosts, Frank and Sandy were exceptional. Friendly, extremely helpful and always cruising the park keeping things organized like a well tuned machine.
The pull through sites are narrow. They’re fine if your rig doesn’t have slides but staying on the pavement without sending your slides into traffic can be difficult.

Very simple and lowkey. Unbelievably convenient for those wishing to take their time checking out the three national monuments near by or as mid point to the Grand Canyon
