The site itself looked great, it did have restrooms and was more than big enough to fit a large group, it has what it the description says it has. The 2 star review is for the lack of communication from the rangers or the recreation website, we arrived to the find the gate locked up with 2 padlocks, we were only given the code to 1, the second padlock required a key. Prior to driving up, we gave the ranger station a call, the person who picked up the phone seemed surprised we were driving up there but they were cordial and let us know if we needed anything to give them a call. Not once during the conversation were we told about a second padlock. We drove up with a group 25 people to find us locked out of the site, maybe it was bad timing, who knows, regardless, the website should not allow reservations if the site was inaccessible or at least a heads up about the second lock. When we did drive down to cell reception, the ranger station phone number rang and rang, we left a message but how would I receive a call
Back if we didn’t have reception. In any case, just do your homework ahead of time and make sure the gate is able to be opened for your reservation. Hopefully, none of this happens if you choose to reserve.
