White Cliff is our favorite river camping park. Love the quiet peaceful setting on the river experience. This is our second trip to this park and we will be back. Park host was very helpful and the Rangers are awesome. Cell service not bad with our cell booster.

At first we weren’t highly impressed. Our site was paved but very unlevel, the fire pit had lots of ash, burnt cans, and broken glass. The camp area also had broken glass under the table. After getting level (lifted on side about 5 inches), picking up the trash, and shoveling the fire pit we quickly changed our minds. The park is a great hidden treasure. The sites each have a covered picnic table and all have plenty of space with very long paved pads. I will add that sites 2 and 3 seemed to be the only that were that unlevel BUT in our opinion, sites 1-3 are the best as they sit up while the others are past the boat launch, are a little more crowded and sit in bottomland. The area is known for great fishing. We did not fish but I’ll assume this is correct by the number of boats we saw. There is a lovely hiking trail that is well marked once on it but the trail head is not well marked. The trail takes you through several different terrains with views of the limestone bluffs. We had a complete blast!!! There are concrete building remains throughout the forest. We learned these are the ruins from the Western Portland Cement Co founded in 1893.

We were a little worried about alligators and danger to our small dog, but there are options other than near the river for walking including the trail on top of the hill where the dynamite building ruins are and an overlook of the river. Mostly quiet except for occasional motorboat traffic. Park attendants live near entrance and this was reassuring. We were there early November 2020 and our campsite neighbor said she saw several alligators in the water when she was boating a couple days before.
