We were a little worried about alligators and danger to our small dog, but there are options other than near the river for walking including the trail on top of the hill where the dynamite building ruins are and an overlook of the river. Mostly quiet except for occasional motorboat traffic. Park attendants live near entrance and this was reassuring. We were there early November 2020 and our campsite neighbor said she saw several alligators in the water when she was boating a couple days before.

Another one of our go back to camp grounds. Good boat ramp on the river. Good shade for July weather.
Quite park that is well maintained.
Love the river with its peaceful atmosphere.

The campground is very well laid out. It was extremely clean. The other campers were very courteous. The camp hosts were the best, they made sure we didn't miss the trail in the campground! Soo quiet at night! we will probably go back again!
