What Guests Are Saying

Hardy Campground & RV Park offers scenic sites with functional electric and water services, though it may feel overpriced. The absence of picnic tables and closed bathrooms, requiring use of porta potties, is a downside. Additionally, train noise can be disruptive, but the park's quiet atmosphere was noted by the few campers present.

The train is loud because you're near the tracks and a crossing, but you quickly get used to it and can sleep straight through them. The frequency slows down significantly at night. The grounds are very well kept and really nice. The bathrooms are bare essentials (men's restroom included two flushing stalls, one sink, and a curtained-off shower section with two individually curtained showers) but they were clean and smelled nice. The grounds attendant was extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Over all I would give this facility a C-. I'm a public campground guy so my review is biased that way. Prefer national forest state parks etc. This is a city owned park. Compared to Arkansas state parks, this campground is a C- sites are small, picnic tables and shade rare. Fire pits scarce train runs near by so there is that. I chose it based on reviews, but it was lower than I was led to believe. Electric, water sites available sites are small privacy non existent. Bathrooms and showers clean but spartan if you use the shower make sure to scope it out first. Dressing requires a plan.
The train runs every hour through the night. The road across the river has cars using it as a drag strip. In fairness my dogs slept well, but as retiree that is an introvert and that prefers the sound of nature this was not my cup of tea. Change my grade to a D+. The only good mark I can give this campground is the hosts were good and helpful. Charge for pets was upsetting . Over 40 a night with taxes and other charges. Too many $ for what you get IMHO.

What a fantastic place to view the eclipse. There were thousands of people in town lots of them were in the park. There was ample parking along the road everyone was polite and friendly it was a festive atmosphere. The city and park volunteers provided information and help and they also came around with free viewing glasses. There was a very nice little playground and a small bathroom facility that was not overwhelmed. The city in the park staff did a great job controlling traffic making sure everyone was able to exit safely in a timely manner.

A beautiful park right in the City of Hardy between the river and the BUSY train tracks. Unfortunately water connections and electrical outlets need to be serviced/repaired throughout the park. Bathroom building is not well maintained...an out of order stall in the ladies and while shower stalls are spacious the overall cleanliness of the facilities is less than to be desired (complete with a dirty towel and boxer shorts.

Update: repairs were made with a day of our notification. Thank you!

I wanna give this park the benefit of the doubt considering they suffered a bad flood, but to be honest it’s a bit spendy for what you get. I think if it was about 15$ cheaper it would be a reasonable for what you get.

There are no pic nic tables, and the bathrooms are closed so you have to use porta potties across the park -they’re not nasty but not great either. also, the train is quite disruptive but I was forewarned. the sites themselves are really pretty, and the electric and water worked fine. There was hardly anyone else camping
