The ticks are around but our spot had a great view of the lake and it was a great trip nonetheless.

Nice campsites, some steep sites that won’t work for vans or RVs.
There is only one bathroom by the boat ramp. Only one for both loops. It was a long walk from our site, especially for night.

Barebones campsite with a fire ring, no running water and electricity. So manage your expectations. It had plenty of space for maybe up to 3 tents and lots of trees for shade and hammocking. We stayed here for really cheap to watch the 2024 eclipse and it was perfect for our needs.

I understand that it is primitive camping but there was 6” of leaves covering the entire camp site. There were 10’s of thousands of ticks and seed ticks all over which we had to pick them off our 4 year old and our dog immediately after getting there. It was horrible. On top of that the poison ivy was run rampant. We had ticks crawling over our tent and hammocks. We had to go buy a rake and rent a leaf blower just to set up camp while still paying as much as staying at another park on Greers Ferry. We definitely will not stay there again until it is better kept. These things basically ruined our trip and made it so we could never relax.
