Camping on grass was nice, and the restrooms were clean. But, one camper had a large barking dog that was permitted to bark for 3 days. The sites are very close together and there is no privacy.

We didn't actually end up camping at Steel Creek since we have an overland tent (in the back of the truck) and there was no where to park it. With no park rangers to help we went back to Ponca and spoke with the Buffalo Outdoor Center who recommended we try Kyle's Landing. So I paid for camping twice. Kyle's landing was lovely.

Ranger was extremely helpful while making his morning rounds and campsites were very clean. Had a great hike on the BRT and had multiple sightings of the nearby elk herd. Our kids loved the experience and the night sky was spectacular.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Bathrooms are basic with two stalls. Bathrooms were clean.
There isn’t much of a view from the campsites.
No cell service or internet. Lots of good hiking trails nearby. Each campsite by the trees has
an unofficial trail down to the river. The campsites in the trees could have more underbrush cleared out so there is more room for tents etc. There is an official trail to the river for swimming etc.
The rangers were very friendly and helpful.
Would camp here again.

Beautiful secluded campsite right by the Buffalo. Well kept and quiet. Nice to get away from cell phone service and electricity!
