Blanchard Springs Recreation Area is highly praised for its stunning natural beauty, fascinating geology, and well-maintained campsites. The campground is in rough shape, at $35.00 per night you would expect to find at least one grill that wasn't falling apart.

I rented group site 2 at Blanchard Springs. No electric, has about 4 individual spaces and tables that you can rearrange around a central fire pit. It's just a beautiful site beside the creek, and a bit away from other campers. There's a flush bathroom nearby, and showers across the road at the beach access. Mirror Lake has terrific trout stocked. All you need is a pole, a little trout bait and a small weight. There's the cavern itself to tour. I love walking the trails around too. If you go in the summer, you can wade and swim in the chilly waters of the creek. In the summer you can also visit Stone County Drive In in Mountain View. I adore this camping area. It's just beautifully maintained. Walmart in Mountain View; a few restaurants.
