We had to leave early as they closed the park due to potential flooding. Park was in good condition when we left. Have been there many times and always enjoy ourselves.

Our only complaint is that the grass was uncut. With it being a busy holiday weekend (Memorial Day) you'd think it would have been.
Other than the landscaping, it was great! We really enjoyed our stay. We'll definitely be coming back.

Tar Camp is my favorite place to camp. I love watching the Tug Boats go up and down the river. It is located in a wonderful town called Redfield. This camp should be open all year. To me the COE is not using this place to it's fullest. We would camp year round if it was open. To me this would help in theft of property. My family was just there in May 2022, there was no Park Attendant at the gate. New Campers wandered around for there sight. The Dump Station overflowed. And the Bathrooms was dirty. We tried calling the Park Ranger (no answer) the number on the website(no answer). But, all of a sudden a Park Ranger showed up to give my Husband a warning ticket for parking on the grass, lol. All that being said I still love Tar Camp❤❤

Would be a 5 but there needs to be improvements to the sights, better signage for the areas.
