We had a family camping trip for my mother’s 90th birthday. Everything was wonderful. Camp host was awesome.

The park was extremely well maintained.
The RV sites offered great views of the Arkansas River and plenty of room, not too close together. The camp host, Karen was very friendly and willing to answer our many questions. We had a great stay and will definitely be back with our kayaks.
The only downside is that the park is not open year around.

We were in site D17 right on the Arkansas River from 10/28/23-10/31/23. The site had 50amp and water only but was a large paved site. We had 3 dogs with us and the stickers were an issue. Our cell signal (Cricket) was slow. We never saw a camp host or a Park Ranger. It is a quiet park with very little traffic. It is a great park to get away and relax in!

This is a very beautiful and quiet park. We stayed in a fifth wheel in late October. I’m sure it is very busy in peak season.

Tar Camp is looking better than it has in years. New bathrooms going in. Cleaned up nicely.

Just an overnight stop, it was quiet and well kept. I'd definitely stop again, with my fishing stuff too hopefully.
