What Guests Are Saying

Cove Creek offers a clean, peaceful camping experience with well-maintained facilities, friendly staff, and beautiful lake views, making it a favorite for many visitors. Guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere, clean restrooms, and ample hiking opportunities, with several planning return visits. Some areas for improvement include the lack of water hookups at certain sites and the need for a high water boat ramp, but these minor issues do not overshadow the overall positive experience.

This park closes too early. We would camp there more if it was open March until November like it used to be . Nothing better than spring and fall camping. The day we left. The ranger was there waiting to lock the gates. Sad

Its clean & quiet. The gate attendant was amazing & kind every time. The only downfall was the flies were horrible.

Now that the poor management of Greers Ferry Lake finally have the water level back to normal, for the first time in probably 12 years or so, the best camp sites are now above water again. The problem is that many of those sites have been turned into day use/picnic spots only. What a crock... Now, people who come and spend a $5 day use fee get to enjoy a prime location, while people paying $16 a night get to set up camp in the under maintained, wooded, swampy, ugly sites that are left over. On top of that, the restroom for the tent camping area is closed and campers have to go a good half mile to the RV section (where they pay the same and use much more camp resources), in order to use an overused restroom. Government entities never cease to exceed my expectation of how much they can waste taxpayer money, mismanage and ruin the experience and beauty of areas that are meant to be preserved for recreation. This isn't the only example of waste and poor management of public lands in my state. Blanchard Springs recreation area and Blanchard Springs Caverns are another example of our joke of a federal government conservation organization, in the forestry commission. They need to be turned back over to private ownership, just like after the failure that got people killed at Albert Pike.
