What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek Campground offers a beautiful, shaded environment with clean facilities and easy access to the lake, making it a popular choice for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While some sites are uneven and require leveling, many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-maintained picnic areas. However, there have been concerns about safety, drainage issues in shower houses, and a few inconsistent amenities that could benefit from improvement.

Clean, quiet, and peaceful. What more could you ask for from a campsite?

Park was clean, quite, and provided easy access to the lake as well as mountain biking. However, standard electric sites were inconsistent in both driveway size and presence of a tent pad. We stayed at 90 and despite a tent pad size (13x15) being listed in the details, there was none. We were able to just fit the tent behind our vehicle in the short driveway. Some other sites on the same loop had either a longer driveway or designated tent pad. We were able to make it work, but due to the sloping nature of our site, would not have been able to fit another tent. If you are bringing more than one tent, be judicious in the site you select.

Prairie Creek is always a great time! I like the camp ground spacing and shaded spots. The host was also very friendly and helpful.

The campground is a large wooded area that is well-maintained with long back-in sites and plenty of space and trees between sites. There is a marina, but unfortunately, the restaurant was no longer open, which was unfortunate. It was easy to make a reservation online. All in all, I had a very good experience. Thank you

We had a great time picnicking and swimming! We used the lakeside group pavilion for a picnic with about 30 people and then several of us made the trek with our kids over to the swim area. I was prepared to deal with a lot of flies around the food, but they really weren't an issue. The waves from the wakes were a lot for the toddlers, but fun for the bigger kids. Love that there were some life vests to borrow! There were steps down to the water by the pavilion, just not in a designated swim area. Some of the adults swam from there. The bathrooms close to the pavilion were pretty clean and had flushing toilets and sinks with soap.
Cons: people had trouble finding the pavilion because there wasn't signage. It was also a little tricky to know where to park.

Wonderful place. We had a shaded double lot which gave us plenty of room for our motorcycle trailer that we towed.

We had so much fun on our trip. We loved how close a lot of the hiking was. We also made a day trip over to Cosmic Caverns and Onyx. The lake was very refreshing after the hot days.
