What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek Campground offers a beautiful, shaded environment with clean facilities and easy access to the lake, making it a popular choice for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While some sites are uneven and require leveling, many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-maintained picnic areas. However, there have been concerns about safety, drainage issues in shower houses, and a few inconsistent amenities that could benefit from improvement.

One work: HORRIBLE! A single bathhouse that was disgustingly filthy. Showers were dirty and water pooled on the floor rather than draining downward. Of the three showers, one wasn't working, and the other two ran for about 4 seconds before you had to push the button again. One of the toilets was clogged with a mountain of poop and paper in it. No trash can in the bathroom. The single bathhouse was 3/4 of a mile from our campsite. A local mens/ladies room to our camping loop were pit toilets that were equally disgusting. This was the worst recreation.gov campsite I've ever stayed at.

Nice, clean, and generally quiet campsites. Though this section of sites is near the road to the boat ramp so there is quite a bit of traffic at certain times of day. Shower house well maintained.. Originally in site #42, but it is only for very short wheelbase travel trailers. Too much of a slope and too near the vault toilets. Moved to site #47. Much better.

So this is the first time I have visited this campground. So let’s start out. There was nobody at the gate upon arrival at 2:00 pm, we couldn’t find our as we drive around from area to area looking for our spot. Upon returning back to the entrance there was someone showed up and they did show us out spot and they were friendly and helpful, they explained the park layout. Upon going to our site, there was a fifth wheel to close to the roadway for us to pull into our site or even back into our spot, I had to go down to the bottom of the one way roadway, turn my motorhome around and come back up to my spot, to try to back into my spot. I barely missing the fifth wheel and it’s hitch by inches as I backed into the spot, making sure I miss the two trees, one on each side of the 049 driveway. From what I see Prairie Creek isn’t motorhome friendly for backing into spots. My motorhome isn’t that big, it’s 32 ft long, I was very disappointed, I will not reserve there again.

This is really a beautiful campground! Close to Rogers and right on the lake. But, on our last visit the showers were really dirty and it didn’t look like anyone was cleaning them on any regular basis.
