What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek Campground offers a beautiful, shaded environment with clean facilities and easy access to the lake, making it a popular choice for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While some sites are uneven and require leveling, many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-maintained picnic areas. However, there have been concerns about safety, drainage issues in shower houses, and a few inconsistent amenities that could benefit from improvement.

Beautiful location on Beaver Lake. Nice restrooms / showerhouses. Peaceful and lots of shade in most spots.

The site was very uneven. Be sure you bring lots of leveling blocks.
The toilets next to this site say they are flushing toilets… they are not… just a hole in the ground.
The shower house close to this site is flooded due to it being uneven. There was standing water up to your ankles.
The site needed to be cleaned up more. There was trash and dog feces from the previous campers all over…. That we had to pick up.
Lots of ticks.

Very nice swim area readily accessible from campground with campers only parking. Marina is very nice too, with rentals available.
Close to town as well with access to good biking and walking paths.

Pros:Great spot for families. Friendly campers. The campground foliage/grass had just been cleaned up which was really nice! Park Rangers were friendly and drove around to check in on people. The lake/beach area is refreshing! The showers have hot water.
Cons: Most spots have really uneven pads. Be prepared to level out your trailer. Wish everyone would drive a little slower. Some people take the wrong road and think they are heading to the marina…drive through the campground really fast. The ramadas down by the lake are pretty gross.

Overall it was a great campground. Could be nice to have more trash available throughout the loops.
The biggest issue was the tent pad in Site #91 floods. I didn't notice it setting up, but the pad has eroded to the point where the timber framing sits higher than the pad itself which causes it to hold water. It was an abnormal amount of rainfall at once but still something to keep in mind.

our location, was best spot so far from all the times my family & friends stay out there. only thing I would change is Not allowing vehicles with trailers, or campers, take up multiple parking spots down by the beach swimming area. they should park in the boating parking area.
