We began our annual church outing to the Buffalo, again, after the pandemic. We have over 30 years of group camping, canoeing on the Buffalo, campfires, potlucks, and community. The few glitches - a fallen tree blocking the road, lights that didn't come on in the communal bathrooms, lack of water to wash hands, were all tended to and rectified promptly. I missed the scheduled ranger talks but I know that many groups are scrambling to get back on track in this waning pandemic year. The extra cool weather made hiking the trails a pleasure. The wildflowers were delightful. New phone apps allowed identification. We are planning to come back next year for the next 30 plus years.

Very nice camp area. We pull a 29' TT with a Ford Expedition EL. So our total length, TT + Tow vehicle is nearly 40'. The pad is large enough for us to fit our rig on and never even unhook!! That's always a big feather in the hat.

Campsite where we stayed were too crowded. The tents in site 47 were up against the back of our RV. River was high so not able to float. Trash containers were not convenient. Probably won’t camp here again. It was our first time. Beautiful area however

This was our first visit to the Ozarks. We spent two nights at the Buffalo National River campground in our RV, arriving just after several major thunderstorms. The river was too high and fast flowing for swimming and kayaking. The trails were moist but still walkable. The campground was neat but the showers were not in service when we were there. We wanted to visit the nearby Rush Valley Historic Village, but the concrete bridge crossing to the village was covered with flowing water although passable by car. Since we weren't sure what the condition of the area on the other side of the bridge was, we opted to turn back. Wish there had been a park ranger or some official posting to let us know whether the village was still accessible.
