We went during the week and the Point Beach was so beautiful and relaxing every afternoon! Not too crowded. We brought some tubes and would float from the point to C campground where we were staying. Then ride our bike to get the truck. The water was low so the float took about an hour. The Indian Rockhouse trail was a very nice hike with some cool attractions. Next time we will plan a trip in April or May so that we can kayak more of the river.

The site was close to the bathroom and trail to river. The first night we had an issue with raccoons while setting up for dinner—nothing could be left out even for a minute while we grabbed something else. I think their den was right below site C53. We kept all food in the car and put sunscreen bottles on top of cooler and supply tote. The noise from the bottles seemed to scare them off. After the first night they didn’t bother us (no food items ever left out or kept in tent).

We were a bit disappointed about how far and rough the journey is to get to the water from the campground. Someone in a wheelchair or other physical disabilities can't get there without a lot of difficulty or not at all. The campsites are too close together. The stars were a beautiful sight overnight, so that's a plus.

This was our second time staying there. We love how peaceful this park is no internet or cell service without a starlink. You come to do the buffalo river for canoeing ,hiking, or just hanging out along a gravel bar with lunch. Almost every trailer pad is perfect level and easy backing into. Very clean campground with a lot of deer and racoons. A lot of the sites along the river have paths down to the river made by the campers themselves. There is a large area for day use along the river with easy access and parking. I hope this helps. Dan

Beautiful and clean property and campsite. The only qualm I have is the bathrooms. They were disgusting. The water was scalding hot with no variation. The sinks did not work so there was no soap or handwashing. The toilets are the only thing I didn’t feel gross using. I checked the other restrooms to see if one was better and they were worse.

Our stay was very peaceful. The campground was clean and neat without disturbing the natural environment. We have been coming to the point and the river for 50 years. Camping here and along the river as well as kayaking with our kids and grandkids. Thx for keeping this place for present and generations to come.

We have been to Buffalo point campground twice now once in April, when the river was too high to float so we took a couple of hikes, which were excellent, the second time in late July and it was extremely hot. The river was also very warm So it hardly cooled you off from the heat. As far as the campground goes, it is an excellent place to camp for both tent and r v camping. We have a 25' travel trailer and our space d fifty nine was perfect. Pay attention to the size of the camping space. When booking your trip for there are several different sizes and Some camping spaces are not level or friendly to set up .

The views and being in nature was fantastic. The hosts were present but did not interact with them at all. The bathrooms at the campground could use some love. None of the sinks worked at the day use area. The lights didn't come on inside when we went into it right at dusk. I chose not to use the facilities after that and just use my camper for everything. I've been to way nicer and cleaner. The overall campground was clean, free of trash. North Toledo Bend State Park will spoil you. They have air conditioned bathroom facilities and they blow off your campsite area before your arrival. Not necessary but a noticeable nice gesture. July was so hot and the water was warm most of our trip until the end. We loved the view, the river, floating, and relaxing. It was a great get away from every day busy life. Would I return? Honestly, no. I would choose to go other places and see what else is out there.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Utilities
- Water and electricity services are unavailable from November 15th to March 14th yearly.

- Climbing or diving from bluffs is highly discouraged for safety reasons.
- Swimming alone during high water conditions is prohibited for safety reasons.

- Pets are not allowed on park trails except for designated trails listed in the rule.
