It was such a great trip. August is a hot time of year, of course, so the river was really nice. There are a couple spots where a very cold stream joins the river, which was really nice to just float and play in as it mixes with the warmer Buffalo river.
There is almost no cell phone signal anywhere in the park, so plan to be completely disconnected from the world while you are there. For those of us that rely on technology more than average, it was a nice break but would have been a problem if we didn't plan for it. We brought some physical games to play and downloaded a couple movies to watch at night.
Speaking of the nights, the stars are amazing! We had a couple clear nights and we went out and just looked at the stars for quite a while. You can see so many more stars there because they aren't being hidden by the lights of civilization. I highly recommend that.

D74 was level, clean and had a nice layout. The bathhouse was close by and was clean. There was a trail to the river close by which was really convenient. The entire campground was clean, well-kept and quiet.
