Great campsite and excellent facilities. It was a busy June weekend and we saw plenty of Nat'l Park staff including rangers on hand being helpful and assisting visitors. We camped in an RV and used the dump station which is about 2 miles away from the campground. I would strongly recommend that maintenance change out the non-potable water flush from a spray nozzle to a threaded fitting so that I could use the black tank rinse system on my camper. All I could do was drain the black tank based upon gravity and then when I got home, I attached my garden hose to the black tank rinse system and flushed the remaining waste-water into a tote tank, which I then had to take to a local state park and dump. Life is short, I'll go back to Buffalo Point regardless.

We have been coming for 45 years. Love the place. Only issue is popularity which makes it very difficult to find a spot. Almost camping sites are taken by the big rigs that do not camp but stay inside. We are true campers. Will keep trying to get a spot.

Buffalo Point is a great campground and John the volunteer attendant was a great guy. We did attend a few of the events hosted by the Park Rangers and these were both very informative for us and our grandchildren.
Thanks,

Chris from north Louisiana. Family of 5. Tent camping. June 2-5 2023.
Buffalo point is 5 hours from my home and the drive is not bad, now that most of the road work on the way up is complete. The drive time makes arrival for check in easy. The campsite is easy to find with clear signage, which is needed because there is no cell signal. The campsite was well maintained, and the shower/ bathroom facility was clean, stocked and had hot water. There is a clear, paved path to the river.
Buffalo Point, IMO, is set up for RV camping. We don't have an RV and tent camped. I would suggest Tyler bend for tent camping as the sites are bigger with more flat area to set up tents. Tyler bend also has a big central field for games and space for kids to play. We also had 3 bars of cell signal at Tyler bend.
