Location works for us visiting family in the area but the campground is in need of refurbishing. The picnic tables are wood and breaking down. The grounds are extremely rustic. There is water available and pit toilets and trash. That’s about it. If that’s all you need you will be fine but many of the sites can’t accommodate RV’s larger than maybe 25 feet.

Beautiful campground and well maintained. Used the dumpster at Vail Lake on the way out.

Nice setting, good sites though no showers, toilets, or hookups. Took a hike this time and was appalled at the horrible signage and lack of signage, and very poorly maintained trail to the springs. Was also appalled at the disgraceful condition of the host's site.

Very solid campground. About a 10 minute drive to gas stations/restaurants, so this is an ideal spot if you want an easy nature getaway while still being close to civilization. The sites were all pretty different, I would definitely choose one deeper into the campground. We stayed at site #20 and it was especially nice because we had our own oak tree, however the ground was a bit uneven. They all include a picnic bench, pit fires and a charcoal grill. The bathrooms were as clean as I’ve seen for pit toilets, and there was plenty of toilet paper. The hiking trail behind the campground is also quite nice, very well maintained and offers California landscape views of rolling hills, a lake and a vineyard.

Nice campground with a couple of trails right out of the park. Civilization is 15 minutes away. Some road noise.
