A quiet campground close to Temecula. Great hiking in the Cleveland National Forest. The pit toilets are kept very clean.

This was our 4th time at this campground. It's a real nice place. Quiet (depending on your neighbors) yet still close enough to civilization for a quick supplies run if you need. We've used a different campsite all 4 times and if you pick 'em right, you'll get a site with a lot of shade and plenty of flat space to set up your tent(s). Some sites have little to no shade nor any flat ground so choose carefully. We usually choose this campground during the colder months since it's open year-round and low enough elevation that it's not too cold in winter. Bathrooms are very well taken care of and are the best-smelling and maintained vault toilets of any campground I've ever been. That's coming from someone who's done 15 camping trips to different parks in the last few years.
Be advised that they've been doing bridge construction just before the campground entrance for several months. During our early-November 2021 and mid-February 2022 visits, we've had to wait up to 20 minutes in a mile-long line of cars to cross the bridge into the campground during peak traffic times. It's only one lane each way over the bridge with automated traffic lights guiding traffic. At night and in the morning it's not so bad.

We were extremely happy with the campground. Nice sites and our mid week stay had very few other campers. Bonus with hiking trails starting right from the campground. A cold front moved through and we left one day early as morning temps were in the 20's.

The best! Quiet & clean with so many trails to hike on. We prefer during the week, which is even quieter.

Campground was clean, bathrooms were clean. Did some hiking which was nice. Not much cell reception but didn't want it. Had a few nights of camp fire that was great. Didn't want to leave but work beckons! We will be back soon.
