My partner and I stayed for maybe an hour. We got to the campsite too late after our event(no one's fault but ours) so it was very dark. That wasn't the issue though, we had plenty of lights we brought. The issue was the amount of bugs flying at us because we had headlamps. Obviously we knew there were gonna be bugs, we were just too exhausted to deal with them and get everything set up so we didn't stay the night. It was a really nice, secluded area which I appreciated. Would definitely recommend! Just don't get there after dark unless you don't care about bugs or how dark the road is to the campground!

I have camped at Dripping Springs numerous times. Mostly without incident. The 4th of July weekend was a bit different. Hardly anybody following the rules. Lots of dogs running around off the lease. Loud music past 10 PM. People not parenting well. People driving too fast.

many sites were closed for seemingly no reason (some had obviously damaged benches / fire rings and thus were rightfully closed, but many others were simply closed or off-limits for no clear reason. the campground host was unhelpful and actually a bit rude when i asked him about some of these sites, which would've been better for us...because some of the sites (one of those that I had reserved...#19 in particular) was literally too small for a single vehicle & tent.

We love this campground in general but will avoid this site with future visits. It’s pretty exposed with very little shade. Fire pit is missing the grill gate which we needed for the food we prepped. The bathrooms on the upper part of the campground are also much more filthy compared to the lower facilities (all pit toilets).

Campsite was full of ant hills, rodent holes and sloped. Pretty hard to sleep in a tent that’s sloped. Campsite was full of tall weeds and grass. Nice location though.

We loved this small and hidden beauty of a site! We highly recommend it for its location and access to the trail system and the surrounding area. We only stayed one night, but we were able to wine-taste, fish at Vail Lake, and hike the trails above the campsite, and it was awesome. Our site was private, close to restrooms, and a solid base camp. In my opinion, the site should be considered for an overhaul of its tables, benches, and BBQs, and hopefully that is an investment the state will make soon, as it is overdue.

We enjoyed the close trails for hiking and that we could bring our dog. We would come back again.
