The Love's RV Hookup in Bakersfield, CA, offers full hookups and Wi-Fi, making it a convenient stop for overnight travelers. While the RV spots are located in a busy parking lot, resulting in some noise and occasional unauthorized use, the facility itself is clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff providing assistance when needed. Overall, visitors appreciate the amenities but suggest improvements in site placement and management for a more pleasant experience.

We stayed at the Bakersfield RV stop twice over the past week. It worked out well for an overnight break while travelling. It was sufficient for our needs with full hookups and wifi. I couldn't figure out how to divert the water to the threaded spout and later read someone's review here on how to do it by pulling down on a collar where the water was gushing out. Overall it was fine, but the location of the RV spots is not good. It's just an extension of the car parking area, the Arby's drive-thru and the gas pumps. Some vehicles and box trucks were pulling into the spare RV spots or using it for U-Turns or temporary parking to go inside. Not a big deal. There's an occasional homeless person wandering through and some sketchy people hanging out at night. It would have been better if they put the RV spots in a more secluded part of the property. Another strange issue is that someone with a junky trailer is obviously living there in Spot #3. I noticed this trailer last week and then again this week. Another reviewer mentioned this trailer in spot #3 a month ago! He posted a photo and it's the same one. What is going on here? Squatters? On the Love's RV app, it showed spot #3 available on both of the nights I reserved a spot a week apart. Other than this being an eyesore everything was fine.

Great option for overnight with full hookups. Travel stop has good showers and you get a discount when using RV. Please make more in California!

A little late, I did call the call center. We get there around 830 pm the last thing we want to do is tell someone parked there we paid for that spot. My husband walked up to rv he was greeted with "we no speak english" he said "we paid for this site" the manager agreeded to move (they were having dinner) the 2 rigs next to him were helping their selves to the water to clean their shitter hose that they had going to the road from the rv space!!! Then site 3 was available on the app (I checked again) when we parked but there is someone living there!! Have a lot attendant do hourly sqeeps of the rv spaces and the "trashy trailer" needs to be charged!!!

Over the past week I have stayed at a Love’s RV Stop in OKC, Amarillo and now Bakersfield. Of the 3, I was least impressed with the one in Bakersfield. Don’t get me wrong, it was clean and it provided me a mediocre safe place to stay overnight while traveling, but the others did it much better, and for the same amount of money.
I used the 30 amp service, which worked as expected. The water took me a minute to figure out… it was a “hydrant spout” that sent water everywhere. To bypass the hydrant simply pull the collar around the hydrant spout down. However, the spout then constantly leaks, I assume as a pressure relief. Due to the slope of the pavement, the water then runs to the sewer drain and pools. I ended up sticking a rock in the drain opening to hold it open so the pooling water would drain into the drain rather than continue to run out everywhere else. Thankfully, we did not actually use the sewer to dump our tanks.
Placement of the RV sites was my biggest issue. These are simply in the corner of the parking lot. So we basically paid $50+ to park in a parking spot overnight. Sure, I had power and water too, but this didn’t rectify the high costs in my opinion. And since these “sites” are unmonitored, we saw other people using them, clearly without reservations. Some dumping their tanks, others filling their tanks, and still yet, some folks just parking their vehicles in them.
And even though these sites are really just a parking spot right in the parking lot, it is also situated right at the loudest area… closest to the red light that everyone is stoping at and then taking off from. These sites were clearly a (poor) afterthought, but sadly they feel like they should still bring in the same costs as the premium sites at other Loves RV stops.
Saying that, the actual Loves station was very nice. 5 stars for the station!
This past week was my first experience at the Love’s RV stops, and thankfully the Bakersfield stop wasn’t my first… they are overall very convenient while traveling and it’s nice that they have power and water. And yes, checking in is a snap, but they are not all equal. The one in OKC is very nice and I was not disappointed paying the $50/night. On the other hand, the one in Bakersfield should be about $10/night max. $5 for power and $5 for water.
At least we did get a nice sunset out of the stay, however it isn’t enough that I would use this Loves RV stops again.

Lives here in Bakersfield California is pretty nice. If you need to extend your visit there were problems at first getting the electric back on. Grant, and two other people were awesome at helping with that and any other things. Very friendly and felt safe. The dog park has a wonderful fence but needs serious work on the upkeep. Stationed in front of gas tanks and there were cigarette butts and trash all over. We did not use it. Overall a fairly nice place.
