Convenient location half way between Sequoia and Yosemite. Walking distance to Bass Lake, great for swimming or boating, and not too far from restaurants or groceries if needed. Located or the quieter side of the lake among other camp grounds and picnic areas, rather than the more residential or commercial side across the lake.

Lupine is very close to the lake and has several great camping sites. If you are bringing a tent make sure to check pictures before you book, this camping area is on a steep hill and some of the sites aren’t level and better for someone with an RV. It can get hot in the summer and not all sites have shade trees so I recommend bringing shade for midday. If you go in the spring or fall it my rain so I recommend something to wipe your feet on, it can get muddy. Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table but be prepared that you may need to bring a shovel because they don’t always clean out the pits.
This camping area is right across from the amphitheater on the lake and a day use area so it’s loud during the day quiets after 6pm and is very quiet after 10pm.
Not a lot of bugs but there are seasonal mosquitoes. There are several deer that go through the site in the mornings. There are also lots of quail and the occasional turkeys. There are bears in the area, so I would not leave food out or in your tent, but in a locked car… make sure to lock the car because some of the Bears have figured out how to open doors,
The Forks restaurant/store and the Lodge are both about a mile away and have boat rentals, provisions and food and bars.

We were there on a Monday
The overflow of campers garbage bags, likely from the weekend, left much next to the dumpster and as expected Wildlife rummaged through it all and dispersed garbage widely.
The Bass lake area /Sierra Nat Forest/PGE area is in need of a real trash cleanup/management program as we picked up trash front minuet we arrived. Its a people /public problem so a dedicated awareness / refuse container /trash removal is necessary.
Thx

Nice campground but with all the bears roaming around bear BOXES should be provided; Even if they are smaller boxes.
Our 4 day stay was pretty quiet and peaceful since it was after Labor Day. The lake was glassy and beautiful.
Bathrooms were not cleaned our entire stay and that’s a bit too long.

Estella was very attentive and helpful, a great host to have there. Her and her husband constantly monitored the campsites. I always felt my belongings were save and secure when I was there.

Our camp has lovely shades and is very close to Bass Lake—walkable distance (5 min).
The patrol is very friendly and will come to your site to check you in if you arrive during late hours.
The bathroom is clean.

Space 67 does not have any shade until the afternoon, however this site is great to view the stars.
Robbie from maintanance was very helpful with check in and sold us a bundle of firewood.
The previous campers at site 67 moved the picnic table too close to the road, Carmen the camp host helped us move the picnic table to a safer location. We hope to return again midweek in November since there are less campers during this part of the season. Our camp site was very clean, no garbage to pick up before we set up camp.

Great camp ground, my site around the fire pit could have been flatter.
