What Guests Are Saying

Spring Cove Campground offers a beautiful, secluded setting with easy access to Bass Lake, making it a popular choice for families and groups. Visitors appreciated the friendly and helpful camp host, clean facilities, and the peaceful atmosphere, particularly at more remote sites. However, some guests expressed disappointment over the availability and cleanliness of porta potties due to plumbing issues, and the campground's noise level can vary, especially during busy holiday weekends.

I stayed at Spring Cove Campground with my dog over the Fourth of July weekend. The campground host was very friendly and welcoming, and my campsite (#46) was spacious with plenty of room to spread out.
One thing that could definitely be improved is the signage. It was very difficult to navigate the campground, and it took me quite a while to find my campsite because the site directional numbers weren’t clearly marked.
Another downside was that the bear box wasn’t located at the campsite. It was across the road, which made it inconvenient to access food and supplies. I also expected the site to have more shade than it did. It was very warm, and there wasn’t much relief from the sun during the day.

The restrooms were clean throughout most of my stay, although they were locked on the morning I left, and I wasn’t sure why.
On the plus side, I have Verizon and had excellent cell service throughout the campground, which was a pleasant surprise.
I didn’t see any bears, which was a plus. Overall, the campground was much busier than I prefer, although I did visit over the Fourth of July weekend, so the crowds were to be expected. If you’re looking for a lively campground close to Bass Lake, this may be a good option. I enjoyed the time with my dog, but between the lack of shade, difficult navigation, and overall busyness, I probably wouldn’t return.

It was unfortunate that the dates I had our reservation there was no water in most of the bathrooms and water spouts. The only working one was near the entrance. Porta potties were available.

We had an overall pleasant experience as always. The only downfall was there not being any water and having to be using portable restrooms that were not very clean most of the time. An email giving us a head up would have been helpful so that we could prepare with the needed equipment to make our stay better for our group.

The campsite was great, except the bathrooms were closed. Instead, there were porta potties and outdoor sinks. It would’ve been nice if the Porta potties were cleaned more often. the sink also ran out of water.

Pros: The host is very friendly and drove by often to check in on us. It is very flat and my group all fit perfectly. It was three 4 person tents and they were easy to stake down. We are very close to bathrooms. The space fits 3 cars, so our friends at a different site were able to park here when hanging at our site. There are no trees obstructing the sky view, so it is a great spot to stargaze! Really close to lake/beach access... you can basically walk there.

Cons: The site's bear proof storage did not fit our coolers! (YETI Roadie 48 and IGLOO Latitude 60 Qt Roller Cooler) We had to put them in our car since there was bear activity at the sites down the road. The trash bin is located on our site, so people do come down to toss their trash often, although it didn't cause bother after quiet hours. Bathrooms were out of service, so porta potties were available. No shade so canopy is needed.

This site is pretty small... at most it fits one 4 person tent. It also has no shade so a canopy is recommended - although it may be a bit tight. It was hard to find good placement to stake down our tent as there was a lot of rock. Since the site is so small, the bear proof storage, and table is super close to where you are sleeping. With multiple bear sightings at other camp spots, this made us feel a bit uneasy. The place is pretty exposed to two other sites that are to the left and right. So if you are looking for privacy this may not be an the spot. The bathrooms are nearby, but the downside is that they only had porta potties available for use.

Great campground. Site was clean and fairly flat and large, perfect for our 10 person tent and 4 person tent (we used 2 separate ones) Only downside is there isn't a lot of shade so if you plan on staying here bring a canopy. Definitely accessible, restrooms were extremely close, walk to the lake was super close.

First time staying at this campground and it was amazing! Sadly the bathrooms were out of order but they did put porta potties. Stayed at campsite #51 and will definitely be going back.
