What Guests Are Saying

Four Jeffrey Campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, excellent facilities, and outstanding camp hosts, Suzanne and Shane, who are noted for their attentiveness and friendliness. The campground offers spacious sites, well-maintained restrooms, and a beautiful location near hiking trails and fishing spots. While some reviews mentioned occasional issues like limited toilet paper and uneven sites, the positive experiences and welcoming atmosphere greatly overshadow these concerns, making it a favored spot for many campers.

Good place to acclimate for a night before going to elevation in the wilderness. Majority of campsites have sunshine all day long so you have to create your own shade.

The managers of the campsite were terrific! I don't remember their names, but they were a husband and wife team.

Beautiful campground in the Sierras. All the sites are immaculate, the CG hosts do a fantastic cleaning up and raking all the sites when the campers leave. The restrooms were spotless… great experience!

Four Jeffrey was quiet, beautiful and spacious. The sites near the Aspen trees and creek are particularly nice. The hosts were fantastic. Our hikes at both South Lake and Lake Sabrina were stunning!

The camp hosts were super friendly and helpful.
They told us about the bear that had been visiting the campground and how to get a WiFi signal.
The bathrooms were clean and it was the only campground that I’ve been to that the campsites had been raked to smooth it out from rocks.
The campsites were good and most were near the creek.
We went to breakfast at The Cardinal Cafe near Cardinal Village Resort. It was fantastic!

Great location, we've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed our time. Memorial Day weekend not as crowded as Labor Day weekend. The weather is May a bit unpredictable, was supposed to have clear skies but ended up having some rain, heavy winds but nothing too crazy. Cool nights with warmer days. Camp hosts are super friendly, always welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. Firewood available at their site for $10 a bundle, burns well. Creek was rushing and there were several small pools where the freshly stocked rainbow trout would hang out just waiting to be hooked! Restrooms really clean, but do run out of toilet paper near the end of the evening, so bring your own. Wonderful that Bishop is just 20 minute drive down the mountain and the small shop/lodge up the road is fully stocked in case you forgot something. Hiking at North and South Lake fun, not too many bugs in May but more in September. Overall, a wonderful experience, always happy to stay here! Oh, and zero to no cell reception for T-mobile and Spectrum.

I'll be honest, I'm usually not a big campground camper and tend to be pretty picky about campsites. Four Jeffrey Campground definitely changed my outlook. The camp host (I'm terrible with names) was absolutely wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and always greeting everyone with a smile. You can tell she genuinely cares about the campground and the people staying there. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained, which is always appreciated. My son and I came up for a fishing trip and had an amazing time. The first evening we fished the creek, and my son caught his first real fish completely on his own with his new fishing gear, which made the trip special right from the start. The next day we rented a pontoon boat on the lake, and the staff at the marina and café were great. If you're planning to fish, I'd recommend either fishing the lake in the morning and the creek in the evening, or fishing the creek in the morning, grabbing lunch and a slice of their homemade pie, then heading to the lake in the afternoon. The pie is fantastic and the flavors change regularly. We found the lake could get a little slow and windy during the middle of the day. Overall, we caught fish, made s'mores, relaxed, and had a great father-son trip. One thing I actually enjoyed was not having much of a Wi-Fi signal. Camping is a chance to unplug, and instead of staring at screens, we played Uno, cards, and talked about life. Those are the memories that matter. I would definitely recommend Four Jeffrey Campground and look forward to coming back.
