What Guests Are Saying
Grasshopper Flat offers a beautiful, well-maintained campground with friendly hosts, particularly praised for their helpfulness and knowledge of the area. The clean facilities and peaceful atmosphere make it ideal for family camping, though visitors should be aware of bear activity and the lack of bear boxes. Some campsites are closely spaced, and parking rules can be strict, but overall, guests find the experience relaxing and enjoyable.

We really enjoyed Grasshopper Flat camping area. The facilities are in very good condition. The best part of camping here is that it is so quiet and peaceful. High speed boat traffic is banned from Davis Lake, including water skiing and any personal water craft. That keeps the lake area quiet. There is a nice trail that surrounds about 1/3 of the lake that is suitable for hiking or cycling. The entire trail is shaded by the forest. If you like gravel roads for bicycle riding there are plenty of options accessible right from your campsite. My only complaint is that there are no "bear boxes" to store your food, and bears do visit this area.

First trip to Grasshopper Flats and it was awesome. The camp host Patty is a rockstar, very personable and does a great job. Bathrooms were clean and stocked (except handsoap but that’s probably a budget cutback topic). She runs a tight ship and manages the campground very well, which seasoned campers appreciate. We’re hoping to get back a few more times this season.

Lovely campground, on a lovely lake! Camp hosts are friendly and attentive. Sites are well spaced. Some sites are more suitable for tents than others. Loops 1&2 have lovely restrooms. My biggest gripe is that loop 3, which has the ADA site only has porta potties right now. It makes it much less accessible, and isn't noted on the website, so it's something to be aware of when reserving a site

Absolutely beautiful and quiet campground! The host was very friendly and helpful. My only reason for four stars was the ten Buffalo gnats/No-see-ems bites I got. Very painful and swollen for over a week!! Plumas News said they weren’t out yet. We did take precautions, but they got all of us! I’ll avoid May/June next time!
