This is the best place for family camping. I highly recommend this place. I've been coming here for 22 years. My kids and grandkids have grown up coming here. It's beautiful.

I Just LOVE this place. Been going ever since I was a little girl! This place is a magical family vacation spot. My children are now the fourth generation to visit. I have the best memories here. Crisp mornings with coffee, meals at the restaurant, shopping at the store, boat house, boat rentals, fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, relaxing… sooo much more. I love the cabins but we’ve literally done it all here.. tents, trailers, cabins and the motel rooms. All experiences have been the best. I love summer time, ice cream at the bear den, concerts, BBQ. Fourth of July up there is the BEST. I love to order a burger and fries from the restaurant and go enjoy it on the shore watching the ducks and geese. Great fishing for fishing people. My husband and kids love to fish. I love to watch the wildlife, sunsets and sunrises. It’s just amazing. If you go, please take care of the land, pick up all your trash and remember that the rules are there to preserve and give everyone the best experience they can get. I did knock a star off for service because sometimes they can be grumpy, depending on who you get. Just let it roll off your back. The place is too beautiful with too much to offer to let it spoil your trip. Enjoy!

First time at the campground and village and won’t be our last! What a hidden gem. We camped in our RV. But there’s also cabins and a hotel. The campsites are first come first serve. Which for the novice is confusing. There’s more dry camping than hook ups which are 30amp. The place is huge and has so many nice sites. Some of the FHU sites are a little tight. And if you don’t get one right away you can move when it does. I heard summers are busy there.

Has a great full service camp/fishing store, an amazing fully filled store and gift shop. And a restaurant and small bar.

The staff were all pleasant. Mary checked us in. Very kind.

The lake is beautiful and has rental boats.lake activities and fishing. The views are so pretty of the mountains, and the village has a stream with salmon!

No WiFi but they do have internet for purchase and worked great. Idk about the way back in the more remote areas tho.

People get there and stay for months so sites can be tight I hear in summer.

Lots of hiking around and fun day trips to Bodie State park and we also did mammoth/June lake. And another day Tioga pass.

Fill up with gas/diesel for cheaper prices in Bishop. But they have that there if you need it also. Also has a laundry room. And Rv dumps if you need them.

The one less star was for the roads could use some filling in. Pot holes. And I wish it had reservations for ease of knowing if you can get a spot. Also showers need some freshening up.

We haven't been in years. The campground lies below the most majestic of mountains. Showers are nice and clean. Campsites are undefined and hard to determine where you can park. Roads are hard to figure out. There isn't much signage. There is one bear box for every 4 to 6 campsites and if someone is using it, good luck. Half the campsites have no fire rings. Staff are very rude!! My daughter and family came up. There is no cell signal, so I had no way of telling her we couldn't pay for her site until she arrived. She doesn't like confrontation and she is happy to follow whatever rules but needed to get me to let me know she was there.
She was treated like a criminal. They finally allowed her to walk up get me. Our kind christen, camp neighbors were yelled at for doing something wrong while at the front booth area. They didn't know and again were happy to comply but we're treated unkindly. Sweetest people you ever want to meet! The owners have gotten quite greedy. You will be charged for your camp site, every person after 2 people, AND every additional tent cost you $35 pet night! We ended up crowding family into our trailer to save our kids the $70 pet night. We paid for two campsites and there are 7 of us total. This place holds some very dear memories for our family due to a belated father and husband but I don't think we will ever go back. To expensive to be treated rudely and not be guaranteed a bear box fire pit.
