Great campground conveniently located inside one of my favorite National Parks. Clean bathrooms, friendly workers, beautiful views. Try not to get a site on the side closest to the nearby hotel and you’ll be happier! But can’t really go wrong.

We really enjoyed our experience at Furnace Creek. You are a bike ride or walk away from the visitors center and the Ranch with shops and places to eat. The golf course is next door along with the gas station. There is a paved bike trail that leads to the old mines that you can access at the entrance. The rangers at check in and check out were very nice and helpful. We had FHU site 69 which was a pull through. I thought for a national park it was a large site and there was a decent amount of room between sites. It had a picnic table and fire ring. The star gazing is exceptional here.

There are some really beautiful camping spots in this campground but it's hard to tell which ones benefit from the afternoon shade. Pick carefully! In general, the sites with trees on the southern and western areas of the campground seem to have better shade. The visitor center is excellent and worth spending time in to get oriented with all the possible explorations in the park.

I love Furnace Creek campground. It’s a perfect location in the park and the spots are spacious. It was very hot this trip so that was t great - but not the park’s fault! The staff at the check in kiosk - especially a dark haired younger woman - was pretty unfriendly and unhelpful. I understand that the staff are under a lot of pressure but it was the first time I have not found national park rangers to be friendly.

We have stayed at Furnace Creek many times and it has always been exceptionally well run, clean, and pleasant. This year’s visit was no exception. The campground hosts were especially attentive and helpful.
