Furnace Creek Campground

We stayed at the RV campsite and loved it, well located next to the visitor center, with a place nearby with fresh water and dumpstation

This is by far the worst GROUP campsite I have ever experienced, and here are the major issues:

1. Extremely Dirty Campsite: The ground isn't covered in sand or gravel but in a fine layer of dust about an inch thick. Simply walking kicks up clouds of dust, and it gets worse when the wind blows. I checked all the GROUP campsites, and they all have this issue. Avoid booking GROUP sites here at all costs. In contrast, the individual campsites are much cleaner, with fine gravel on the ground.
2. Untidy Tables: The tables were completely covered in dust and dirt, and no one had bothered to clean them.
3. Distance from Toilets: The campsite is too far from the restrooms, and there is no water source available.
4. No Mobile Signal: There’s no real signal; it shows 3G, but it’s entirely useless.

Wonderful campground in a spectacular setting. Campground is convenient to several points of interest.

Choose your site carefully if you care about noise and light! I was tent camping in #63 and the noise from generators on the backside of the site was so grating. You will also likely be surrounded by campers/vans that have lots of external (bright!!) lights. If you value darkness and quiet, would not recommend that part of the campground. I’d actually recommend Texas Springs (1.5 miles down the road) Campground which has a no generator, tent only section. Maybe if the ranger at check in reminded campers of light pollution and there was signage in the bathroom (like at Pinnacles NP) people would be more contentious! Some people may just be completely unaware/inexperienced camping.

Lots of stars, quiet and nice. Love it here.

Tent sites in the 100 area are too crammed together.

Campsite was clean and easily accessible, and as were the bathrooms/dishwashing. No easy shower access (in case that matters), and the "good" drinking water was a little bit of a walk to the visitor center (otherwise it was the same as the dishwashing water, and this was only sometimes cold). Sites are very close to each other, but this was fine for our purposes.
