Not too far from San Diego, we spent a weekend fully immersed in nature—simple, peaceful, and incredibly refreshing.
Since the campground is first come, first served and there aren’t many shaded spots for those hot summer days, we tried to arrive early to have a campsite under the trees. A small herd of goats would casually wander by once or twice a day to graze—they were absolutely adorable. I also loved the two dogs there; they were super cute and friendly.
Right next to the campsite were avocado trees heavy with fruit, hanging low from the branches—such a beautiful, rustic touch.
One thing I really appreciated was how relaxed the atmosphere felt. You’re not constantly checked on by the host, so it feels more private and free. There’s even an outdoor shower experience surrounded by nature (though there was no hot water during our stay—maybe the heater wasn’t working). The restroom was decent, I hope they can add more picnic tables and wood-burning stoves for the campsites.
Overall, if you’re looking for a peaceful nature getaway without going too far, this is a great option—especially for families with kids, who will absolutely love interacting with the goats.

Cute, private and quiet place to celebrate our anniversary. Bathroom and shower area a little smelly and are the home to a thousand little gnats (the shower had one temp= HOT). But we would definitely come back!

We went primitive camping here with a group of friends. Such an amazing campground. It's so beautiful and the weather was perfect! The farm animals visited twice a day. It was a great time. Would definitely camp here again!

Such an incredible place and beautiful views. Plan for it to be colder then the weather forecast and you will sun burn very easily. Flushing toilets but no sink and I never saw a water spigot. You need high clearance the property is a little tricky to navigate. And the property is so beautiful definitely worth a trip.
