This place was great! I consider myself pretty familiar with the campgrounds in So Cal, and I had no idea this place existed. The campgrounds hosts are amazing, the bathrooms are clean, and the cites are pretty spaced out. You’re not right on top of each other. There is no cell service is you have AT&T. Nearest place to dump a trailer is Dogwood (about 25 min away).
Note: Not many spots are long enough for even a small trailer. Cites 13 & 14 are for sure.

The campground itself is great! Our camping experience was a bit of a disaster, due to heavier-than-expected snowfall. We were woken up at 3:30am when our tent collapsed under the weight of heavy, wet snow. While I was clearing off the snow I heard the snow plow clearing the road, so the road crews were on it. My advice to others is CHECK THE FORECAST CAREFULLY! This campground is at a high elevation, so the weather extremes can be significant. Our battery was dead due to the cold weather, so thankfully we got a jump from a friend. Good to be prepared for these eventualities.
Again, the campsite itself was great. The camp host was very available and friendly and helpful. You can buy firewood from them. The water from the pump tastes good. There is a dumpster right next to the bathrooms (in which we left our destroyed tent, sadly). It doesn't have any bear-proof functions, so I wonder if bears ever come around here (there is a bear box for your food on each site).
There is a trail very close to the campground - it's called Fawnskin or something like that. You can easily walk there from the campground, or drive and park. The trail goes uphill and then opens up to a really nice wide vista with lots of trails to investigate and rocks to clamber around on.
Despite our rude wake up we still had a fun time. Your odds of getting 4+ inches of snow like we did are very low - but not impossible! So watch the forecast, ask the locals, and come prepared (or stay home!).

We loved the Green Valley campground site #36 and loop we were in. The trees surrounding us were huge. We didn’t know there was such big trees in the mountains nearby. Appreciated the clean bathrooms.

We love this spot! It’s a great campground for families and people with limited camping experience. The bathrooms are clean, water is very easily accessible, and the campground host is always friendly and helpful. If you live in the IE and need a quick & easy trip in the woods, this is the place.

The restrooms are flush toilets and very clean and well maintained.
Until Labor Day you can swim in the lake for a $7 daily fee.

From Running Springs, travel east on Highway 18 about 3 miles to Green Valley Lake Road. Turn left and continue about 6 miles to the campground.

Policies & Rules
General
- We are located in the San Bernardino Mountains, we are not the State Park in San Diego.
- Bears frequent the area; use appropriate containers for food and garbage
- Off-road vehicle use is prohibited within the campground
- Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed
- In accordance with standard industry practices, Mountain Top Recreation will be assessing a $8 additional vehicle fee per night on the second vehicle in each single family campsite, and on the third and fourth vehicles in any double family campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the first vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the first two are considered to be one vehicle and the third and fourth are also considered to be one vehicle. No additional vehicle fees are collected for bicycles. The fee is collected at the Campground.
