We had our wedding at HVR at the end of July 2026...safe to say, it was quite literally the BEST DAY EVER!! The bride and grooms suites were clean and set up nicely. The shower's were clean, and many of our family members used them and said they were great! Ed, the camp host, was FANTASTIC!!! Super accommodating, and helpful! He and some staff even joined us during the reception lol
We've heard from so many friends and family members that our wedding was the best/coolest/most emotional/beautiful wedding they've ever attended and I truly think HVR had a huge roll to play! 10/10 could not recommend them more.
Here's pics from the wedding day and the rehearsal :)

Visited Holcomb Valley Ranch in Big Bear while attending the Young Men’s Weekend event, and the setting was absolutely incredible. The location itself is impeccable — wide open, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It’s easily one of my favorite camping spots. There’s something special about waking up to the sound of wild horses in the morning, a rare experience that adds to the atmosphere.

I camped here for 3–4 days, and it was remarkably quiet and relaxing. The only noise came from a road behind the property where off-roading vehicles passed, but it was minimal and never distracting enough to take away from the overall peace of the place. The land is vast, giving everyone plenty of space to spread out and enjoy without feeling crowded.

For anyone looking for a spot that combines natural beauty, serenity, and a touch of the wild, this ranch delivers. Five stars without hesitation — highly recommend for group events or personal camping trips.

We camped at site E3 at Holcomb Valley Ranch and it was such a memorable experience. The ranch itself is incredibly peaceful, with beautiful views & surrounded by towering pines, open meadows and wide-open skies that make for amazing stargazing at night.
We had a bit of an adventure when we first arrived late in the night—our Tesla Model 3 got stuck on the way in. To our surprise and gratitude, few of the folks from the ranch along with camp host Ed came over to help pull us out, even though one of them had his daughter’s wedding to attend within the hour. That kind of generosity and helpfulness is rare and we are so grateful and blessed to encounter this.
The campsite at E3 is spacious and quiet, a great spot if you want a mix of privacy and views. That said, it’s important to note that it’s not suitable for low-clearance vehicles—you’ll definitely have a smoother time getting in with something higher off the ground.
The facilities were mostly fine, but the flush toilets were unfortunately clogged during our stay and could use some maintenance or upgrades. It wasn’t a dealbreaker, but it stood out compared to the otherwise well-kept surroundings.

All in all, Holcomb Valley Ranch is a gem—stunning scenery, a serene atmosphere, and people who truly go above and beyond. We’d happily return again (next time with a higher-clearance car!).

My husband and I just spent the weekend here, and it was beautiful. The ranch is very well taken care of, there’s clean port-a-potties at all the camp sites. We rented a one acre plot and felt like we had the ranch to ourselves! It’s close to the lake and downtown. Would definitely come here again

This was our first time here and we had a great time. The drive up is a little bumpy so I don’t think we would drive up and down it much. We stayed at site D6 and it was smaller than I expected. It was surrounded by bushes and slightly slanted which made it difficult to find a place for out tent. We have a four person tent, but a bigger tent would be harder to find space. We were right next to the bathroom and shower which was great since we have to small boys. The downside of that is you also hear everyone else who has to use the bathroom. My biggest complaint is that our neighbors in D7 came in at 10:30 at night and took an hour to unpack. Our boys were woken up by the sound of them hammering in their tent stakes and loud talking. I’m not sure if the camp host was aware of their late arrival but it was very rude and inconsiderate. Over all we had a great time my boys had a blast. I would definitely stay there again but a different site.
