Pineknot

This was a last minute booking. We got this by luck last minute since all campgrounds were booked. I would say the best campgrounds at this location would be farthest to the left in the back. If you are not much of a camper and want to be camping but near everything this camp ground is perfect. Next to the city, lots of stores and next to Snow Summit. They maintain this location pretty clean and the staff is friendly. The only thing this place needs would be a shower area. You can use the sister campground that's only about 10 minute drive.

The view was absolutely perfect, and our campsite was the perfect size! The host was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this campsite. We would love to stay at this spot again! Our campsite was 001!

Our site 45 was actually very nice since it sat back a ways off the road. The noise level throughout most of our stay was unbelievable. Karaoke, loud music, loud people. Not my way of trying to relax in nature. Our friends were camped across from us and they were literally surrounded by tents. I think people were abusing the tent sites If we would have know what the campground was going to be like we would have probably pitched our tent as far back on site 45 as was possible. We will not return.

The camp hosts are warm, welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The bathrooms are clean and potable water available. This camp does not have showers to be sure to bring your own or head over to Sorrento Camp. The one note from last camp is ther has been a rain early in the week and dirt washed on to the parking blacktop, which as not been blow off prior to arrival, which with a bit of effort we swept. Firewood is available for purchase at $10 a bundle. Overall this location and its facilities make my camp experience at Pineknot easy.

Love the campground and its convenient location; lots of trees and feels very private and secluded despite being near to major conveniences with Snow Summit in its backyard. We stayed in campsite one. It was a little snug getting our small trailer in because of the narrow road but we made do. The picnic table, bear box, cooking area were up a small hill, but that seemed to be the norm with many of the campsites we saw. Look forward to coming back again.

Cons:
-Multiple restroom closures with substituted port-a-potty...but no mobile porta sink to wash your hands. The bathrooms that do work only have a single toilet so there were frequent lines forming outside the bathrooms.
-$$$ for a second vehicle which makes absolutely no sense.

Pros:
-Beautiful campground with tons of trees and truly natural feeling campsites.
-Super close to snow summit and grocery stores
-Great starting point for hiking and biking.

#6 was sloped and had lots of embedded rock/stone and men's bathroom was out of order

Very nice campsite, but very loud and rude guests at the campground playing amplified audio during quiet hours between 1am and 4am ruined the experience. Where is the camp host?

This is our second time camping in Big Bear and this place is awesome. There are no shower facility but otherwise it is a nice place to camp with family. I definitely recommend. We will go back again soon.
