PEOPLE WERE BREAKING INTO CARS AT NIGHT WHILE THE CAMPGROUND WAS ASLEEP!

We stayed at pineknot the first weekend it opened for the season. At 2am we heard our car door beep open. My fiance got up to look and saw two people by our car. One was looking directly at our tent (as a lookout) and the other was trying to open our car door. My fiance quickly locked the door with his keys but the person beeped it back open! They must of had some kind of fob to open car doors. We set off the car alarm to scare them off but they left for a moment and came back. We called 911 from our tent and the cops drove around the entire campground with search lights. We knocked on the camp host's door but he wasn't there.

The campground was fully booked and all afternoon and early evening we noticed car alarms were going off. I'm unsure if the thieves were campers or not but when we purposely set off our car alarm, to scare away the thieves, I bet most people probably chalked it up to another accidental car alarm.

Be careful. They were very quiet and were able to unlock our car door. I don't know if people are getting more desperate with the pandemic but these people were bold considering we were sleeping 50 ft away in our tent in a fully booked campsite. If they were successful in breaking into cars and stealing, on the first weekend of the camping season, I have no doubt they will do it again.

Small spots ( 22” camper) but very nice and clean.

Quaint camp ground just off the main road. Enough of an escape. Shawn was the host during Halloween weekend, that dude is rad. Super warm guy and keeps the ground looking perfectly woodsy.

The campground, although basically in town, is beautiful!!! Bathrooms were spotless. On the down side, sites are on top of each other and people were very noisy and partying until 2 am. During the week was amazing! Weekends, not so much.

Love this campground. Each site is situated far enough away from each other to feel like you're actually in the woods. Sometimes you just want a bit of seclusion and privacy when camping. The on site staff person was also really friendly and helpful. Bathrooms could use a bit of cleaning. Keep in mind, there are no showers.

Great campsite, right on the outskirts of town so it's not very remote but it still feels like you're in the wilderness for the most part. Most sites are well-spaced. Space 22 is near a water spigot and the bathrooms, but not too near, and far enough away from adjacent campgrounds. However, there wasn't anywhere with kevel ground for the tent so I had to sleep on a bit of an angle, no biggie though.

Nice little campground within Big Bear town and close to Big Bear Lake. Lots of fun activities for all ages. Clean restrooms and water spigots not far from campsites.
