Pineknot Campground offers a beautiful, well-maintained setting with friendly hosts, making it an enjoyable experience for many campers. The sites are clean, spacious, and mostly shaded, with convenient access to nearby attractions and hiking trails. While there are minor concerns such as noise from neighboring sites and the absence of showers, overall, visitors appreciate the campground's cleanliness, management, and friendly atmosphere.

Pineknot Campground sits at the base of Snow Summit and makes for a great mountain getaway. It is so peaceful and well maintained.
There are no showers here, but the clean restrooms with running water make camping a little easier. Loved all the shade from the trees and the fire pit and grill at all the campsites.
One of the best parts of this campground is how close it is to hiking and biking trails, you can head straight out from camp and be on an adventure in minutes.
Big Bear Lake and the village are just a short distance away, so there's plenty to do in the area. This is a well-kept campground with lots nearby, and bonus points for being dog friendly.

3 day/2 night stay mon-wed in August. Less than half of the campgrounds were occupied. Well shaded. Plenty of potable water spigots throughout and bathrooms were clean. The campground is built into a hill so many of the sites have a slight hill from your car to the main part of the site, but the sites themselves are level. Overall happy with Pineknot and would camp here again.

This is our second time camping in Big Bear and this place is awesome. There are no shower facility but otherwise it is a nice place to camp with family. I definitely recommend. We will go back again soon.

Very nice campsite, but very loud and rude guests at the campground playing amplified audio during quiet hours between 1am and 4am ruined the experience. Where is the camp host?

Cons:
-Multiple restroom closures with substituted port-a-potty...but no mobile porta sink to wash your hands. The bathrooms that do work only have a single toilet so there were frequent lines forming outside the bathrooms.
-$$$ for a second vehicle which makes absolutely no sense.
Pros:
-Beautiful campground with tons of trees and truly natural feeling campsites.
-Super close to snow summit and grocery stores
-Great starting point for hiking and biking.
