Camp hosts are awesome. I was one of about 20 trailers there for approximately 3 days. All was awesome except NO sewer dump at campground. Closest dump at Serrano, 5 mi away, and they charge you $10 extra!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Huge campsites, nice host, clean bathrooms, close to town and the marina. Very close to Snow Summit. Not sure what it would be like if the lifts had been running, but right now it was beautiful and quiet.

Recommend Site #23. Great Campground next to Big Bear Lake. Lots of trees to hang hammock. Kids loved it. Will go back again.

Fun Campground at the base of Snow Summit Ski Resort. Great hiking in the summer up the mountain. 50% occupancy in the campground due to social distancing made the area very pleasant. Space to breathe the open fresh air. The bathrooms were constantly being sprayed my camp manager with disinfectant solutions - they did a great job on keeping all sanitary.

I'm not sure if it was just the site I was in, but this campground has the oddest layout of sites. It took me a while to figure out which table was ours, etc. Also the fact that it was on a hill, meaning climbing up and down from vehicle to picnic table numerous times per day. That said, it was warmer at night than across the lake at Serrano.

My husband and I stayed at campsite 18. We had a wonderful time!! My favorite part of our trip was being able to star gaze and campsite 18 was perfect for it!! It does get pitch black at night with very little campground lights so make sure to bring lanterns!! The host was very friendly and on site and check-in was really simple!! We will definitely be back!!

The campground is well laid out. There are plenty of clean bathrooms. The water is good. The location, right next to Snow Summit Recreation area is terrific for my son to ride his mountain bike. The staff is very courteous. Plenty of firewood available from the camp hosts.

Imagine spring break in the woods; loud campers, dogs off leashes and NO enforcement of quiet hours. None! You can openly smoke pot and party well past midnight. If this is what you’re looking for, change my rating to 5 stars. I wish I had a spot like this when I was 21.

Unfortunately for me, I was unable to sleep because I was busy explaining to my kids why the loud man keeps dropping F-bombs every other word at 2am.

My kids were also entertained by “Pepper” the chocolate lab who kept running into our camp. I love dogs but I did see and hear Pepper barking all day and night. This isn’t the campsite’s fault but something to consider when selecting a dog friendly campsite. Pepper’s owners were very inconsiderate, and with the amount of free roam Pepper was given, I’m sure he deposited a land mine or two around neighboring campsites.

Bottom line, disregard the Covid / single family warning on the website. I saw groups of 15 plus people partying like they were at a burning man concert. If the sound of the motorcycles on the highway doesn’t keep you up, a group of drunk mountain bikers will. I hate to give a low rating because of poor behavior of guests, but if the rules aren’t enforced, it makes it difficult to entertain the idea of going back or recommending Pineknot to others.
