Panther Flat Campground

The best host I've ever experienced. He was everywhere, all the time, and he was helpful and kind and just all around terrific. The bathrooms were spotless, there was no trash, he was just really on top of things.

Also loved the setting, the river being so close, easy to get to hikes and mountain biking trails.

It was 7 pm and very dark already when I arrived after drive 10 hours. My reserved campsite was occupied by someone. There was reserved sign and my name but he doesn't want to leave. Me and my wife went to see the manager but office was closed and locked.
We found one FF campsite available and it was the last one. WE paid another campsite pay and we could stay overnight. When I met manager next morning, he said he went to outside for dinner at 7 pm last night. They refunded reservation fee into my credit card.
Money is not important at that night. If there was no campsite available, where we could stay at that night. Recreation.gov is very reliable, good online system. I hope them protect this kind of violation.

Panther Flats is a lovely, busy campground located slightly above the Smith River. I would suggest improved access to the river for day use. There's really only one small beach available at this time and it was always full of people when we wanted to get to the river. Great privacy in site #9.

Peaceful

We had a wonderful time. The camp host kept the campground very organized and the bathrooms very clean. We will be back next summer.

We enjoy the beautiful surroundings, walks by the river, as well as the amenities of the park (hot showers are a bonus!) Very peaceful, and there isn't a campsite that's not perfect.

Very noisy being so close to the highway, we thought logging trucks were in the campgrounds

Great mix of quiet camping spots and excellent river access. Good vibes in the campground, easy access to water!

The scenery is beautiful. The campsite we chose had plenty of room for our travel trailer and vehicles. The bathrooms are clean and restocked every day. However...they need to monitor campsites to enforce group size and quite time. We had some very loud neighbors and their campsites were way over capacity. The camp hosts only check things in the morning. We had to call the sheriff because people were fighting and yelling all night.

HUGE campsites; bring a nice pad if you are in a tent though because our spot was covered in gravel. Campground was nice and quiet for the most part after 10:00pm, and there was a trail right down to the river which was nice. Overall awesome experience.
