We were the only ones at this campground. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful with views of the sun setting over the water. Things to know: this campground like all the other sites is pretty sloped with small tent pads. Some sites are bigger than others and can support a large tent, but don't count on it. Also, the lake has tiny leeches in the mud so wear water shoes

Went in early fall on a colder day. Place was deserted and it was magical. Campsite wasn't water side but it was my first time there so I'm unsure of what the water levels are topically. Either way, picnic tables and pit latrine FTW

We kayaked to Black Mountain camp from the boat launch. We launched around 7 pm in October, so within 45 minutes it was dark out, but we downloaded the map ahead of time so we could tell where we were going by GPS. Black Mountain is a great site in a more secluded part of the lake. We were within the No Wake zone, but a lot of boats ignored that, so don't expect the site to be completely free of running motors. We didn't have any issue with mosquitoes or ticks, but there was some poison oak further inland from our site. The outhouses at the site were fine. All in all we had a great and relaxing time. October seems like a great time to go and not worry about others camping close by.

Beautiful place. With a larger group, we reserved multiple sites. Some sites are great and can accomodate a couple tents. There are sites at this camp that are not maintained well enough to have a single tent (even a small backpacking tent). They need to maintain these sites, or at the very least, take a trip out there to identify and remove the bookable sites that can't actually be camped in from Recreation.gov. You can't charge people for campsites that can't fit a single tent.

Sites had trash mountains & were overloaded with yellowjackets on the piles. The lake itself and areas not covered in trash were really nice.

Excellent spot. Close to the shoreline, with a mixture of shade and sun. Close to the pig hunting.

Campsite was a mess. No flat spots to put a tent up either. Would never recommend using the quick silver sites.

Take Highway 101 north of San Francisco to the town of Healdsburg and exit on Dry Creek Road. Travel west 11 miles to reach the visitor center on the right. The public boat ramp is 1.5 miles further up the road.
The campground is accessible via Highway 101, which is approximately 11 miles east of the visitor center accessed from Dry Creek Road.
