The garbage cans had not been emptied in months...garbage spread everywhere.
The numbers on the sites are wrong! There are two number 10 sites and site 12 does not exist as a result. The site map clearly shows where site 12 is, but it is tagged as site 11...

I stayed at Loggers Camp boat-in campground. There are about 12 campsites here. When you make your reservation, the map showing where the numbered campsites are is not accurate. They are all in that general area, but the specific location on the map is totally inaccurate. All sites are within 40-120 yards of the shoreline (we were there when the lake was about 20' below full level). Also, in the description of the sites, some say they have shade when in fact they do not. Most of the sites here are partially to totally shaded by trees, but about a third have little to no shade. There are 2 out houses for the campground and no running water. There is a trash can, fire pit, and picnic bench at each site, and a 8' tall pipe-post to hang your food/lantern (there are raccoons). I have Verizon cellular and I did not get a signal at the site, but if you hike to a ridge you can find a signal. Overall I really liked this spot and it looked like all the other boat-in spots were pretty similar. Bring toilet paper.

The campsites are in terrible shape. Though these are mostly used for hunters and are primitive campsites, they are some of the worst ones I have ever seen. Extremely dirty, trash everywhere, outhouses were also a mess and stunk very bad.

The map locations are not accurate. The camp sites are all down right next to the lake and very close to each other. You will be mostly dependent on boat to get in and out. Raccoons all over as well.

We love camping at the boat-in sites at Lake Sonoma. There are so many to choose from! The only thing that would make the booking process better is if there were pictures of the sites available on the website.

Take Highway 101 north of San Francisco to the town of Healdsburg and exit on Dry Creek Road. Travel west 11 miles to reach the visitor center on the right. The public boat ramp is 1.5 miles further up the road.
The campground is accessible via Highway 101, which is approximately 11 miles east of the visitor center accessed from Dry Creek Road.
