We have been here many times.Got there after 5 and I don’t remember seeing a sign at the front gate to enter where we usually camp to enter the wrong direction. Finally found the rest of our group an hour later and a couple of “ Marko,,, Polo“ shoutouts.
I do wish that the toilets and showers worked in the area we camp. I do hear they are fixing one area at a time. Bring your own water!! Very dog friendly.

This campground was great except for the fact that we were allowed to have fires on a dry and windy day. That should have never been allowed, and we faced the repercussions of the decision to allow fires. In the middle of the night we were evacuated from the campgrounds because a wildfire had caught on one of the hills in the campground. This was stared from a flyaway ember from one of the nearby campfires. My partner and I had to sleep in our van after evacuating. Again, the campground was great except for the decision to allow fires on that day. I called CalFire to ask who along the chain of commands gets to make the decision to ban fires on a hot and windy day but received no call back or answer. I'm still unsure who gets to make those decisions, but ultimately I would urge the campground to make responsible decisions and put a ban on fires when days are clearly too windy, hot, and dry. These are the dangers that come with our chaining CA climate, and we need to act accordingly.

Beautiful location which we shared with only 1 other visitor...Spectacular view of Lake Sonoma and a short drive to some fine wineries...We plan on a return visit when we are travelling through the area...The camp host was very accommodating...A 5 star rating would be given if the facilities (washrooms et al) were in better condition and the grounds were better maintained but our visit was magical! You won't find a better location at a better price in this part of California!

My most favourite camping getaway!
It's a short drive from San Francisco, but worlds apart in terms of views, and the pure experience of being surrounded by nature! It's also a great spot to simply disconnect - no cellphone service at the campground - which I absolutely LOVE!!!

The bathrooms were down, there were no showers. Good hosts. The campground was more isolated then I thought.

Liberty Glen is our "go-to" camping spot in Sonoma; very close to Lake Sonoma activities via short drive. The site is well maintained and has a variety of shaded and open areas to select. On our last trip, we booked one of the few double sites, plus an adjacent single site to accommodate our larger party. There are facilities to shower and do your business. If it's a sunny day, you may also get warm water too. The hosts also come around with firewood for purchase if you want a campfire. Relax, cook up some grub and enjoy the outdoors!
Activities to consider outside of campsite:
- Wine tasting off Dry Creek Rd (50+ Vineyards)
- Lake Sonoma (Parking lot right off bridge w/ hike down + other local parks & recreation sites with water access)
- Marina (to rent boats, jet skis, etc.)
