What Guests Are Saying
The reviewer experienced a double booking for the reserved group campsite, leading to potential issues for their rafting trip. Fortunately, an adjacent site was available, allowing them to proceed without major disruption. They urged the campground management to address the booking issue for future visits.

I had to reserve a group site to ensure that we would have a spot (even though we only needed a single site). Only group sites could be reserved, all others were first-come-first-serve. When we arrived, the campground was mostly empty. We were happy with the campground, and our group site, but would like the campground reservation policy to be changed so that a portion of the non-group sites can be reserved on recreation.gov.

The car parking space was a bit more spacious than we anticipated (good job allowing yourselves to exceed expectations!). Bathrooms in good shape. Reservation cards are a joy to see when pulling up in the dark! Over all conditions were great. Thank you for being there!

Bathrooms were very clean. Campground is very large and open. Also large (rafting, church) groups in summer so pretty noisy during the day.
We had a large group and we’re able to accommodate everyone at the group site.

Campsites were nice and clean.
We had been warned to bring our own water due to a situation with the Happy Camp town water supply.
We saw the Rangers after we had checked out, and they were friendly and informative.

The group campsite I reserved and paid for,08, was double booked. A large rafting co. had also reserved and paid for the site. Fortunately, 09, was empty and did not appear reserved for the one night we needed to camp. Had this not been available, our rafting trip would have gotten off to a miserable start. The camp host had naughty to say about it and unable to address the issue. Please fix this problem for next year. This is an annual work team building trip.
Sincerely, Paula Brockington

Everything was fantastic! We had plenty of room, bathrooms, running water, a great firepit and lots of provided firewood. The camp was clean and, overall, the perfect experience for my large group for nearly a week.
The ONLY thing that came up that could be improved is that it would have been helpful to have a standard garden hose threading on the water spigots for filling the tank in one of our trailers, washing off stuff after a successful hunt, etc.
Although not the fault or obligation of the campground, the whole Happy Camp area is not good with cell phone coverage. I wish that would improve.
