What Guests Are Saying
Boulder Basin Campground is praised for its beautiful, remote setting, well-maintained facilities, and ample space between campsites, making it ideal for families and nature lovers. Many enjoy the scenic hikes and peaceful ambiance among the trees and granite boulders. However, some visitors have encountered issues with site reservations and challenging access roads, which may deter those with lower-clearance vehicles. Overall, the campground offers a solid getaway experience for those prepared for its remote nature.

The bathrooms were unbearable. The smell made some of our scouts sick and vomit. However, the scenery, the location, and the camping were outstanding. We enjoyed bouldering and hiking around the camp.

The campground was quite well maintained.
Stayed midweek, I believe there were only 2 other sites in use during this time.
Only suggestions I could make is for the park to look into more rapid breakdown methods for the restroom waste.
Camping approximately 200’ away the odor was still quite strong and could easily take your breath away if you had to use the restroom.

Quiet and beautiful site. Truck trail to site needs grading.

Beautiful campsites near Black mountain summit. Cell phone service is spotty at best, no running water, and the bathrooms are pretty gnarly. The road to get there was easy enough for me on an adventure motorcycle ;)

This campsite should have a big red disclaimer so “omg I got a site” campers don’t book it without fair warning. This site is 30+ minutes up a winding bumpy dirt road 40+ minutes from town. So I though we’ll It’s beautiful so who cares cause there will be no one there I can stare at a tree in peace and be happy… oh no little did I know it’s a bouldering mecha! There were people walking around with crash pads everywhere and some douche had a drone for most of Saturday (there goes my nap) if I wanted to see that many people I would stay at a KOA. Also all the noise from the upper sites conveniently echos down to the lower sites so we could hear everything!!! Unless you want to Boulder I would avoid this site.

The campground was very nice with great climbing access. The road was barely passable in my 2WD SUV, but with 4WD and enough clearance you’ll be fine.
