What Guests Are Saying

Marion Mountain Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting for camping and hiking, with well-maintained campsites and stunning views. The location is convenient for accessing trails, including the Marion Mountain Trailhead, and is a short drive to Idyllwild for supplies. However, visitors should be prepared for limited amenities, such as no potable water and basic restroom facilities, and expect close quarters with neighbors during busy weekends.

It was an out of the way campground that was clean and quiet. Trails all around to explore and had a Great sunset view to the west.

The campsites at Marion Mountain are beautiful and well-kept, although we were glad we heeded prior warnings and brought a rake to even out the ground in order to pitch our tent. It’s a great home-base to explore the mountain and the natural features and hiking options around Idyllwild. It’s also a short, convenient drive into town. The campsites are very close together, so be prepared to get cozy with your neighbors! On Fridays and weekends there are lots of children, families, loud music, etc. The vault toilet facilities at Marion Mountain are awful, with human waste, rodent feces, spiders and ants everywhere. You could hear the rodents squeaking and scurrying around in the walls and vents behind the toilets when using them.

Great location to camp and hike from, especially if you are doing the shorter (but steep) Marion Mtn Trailhead. Bathrooms were not bad, stocked with TP. No potable water was available when we were there mid/late July.
