What Guests Are Saying
Hobo Campground offers a great experience with nice hosts and clean facilities. Site 3 is spacious, shaded, and has creek access, making it ideal for winter camping despite some bug issues. However, maintenance could be improved, particularly regarding the cleanliness of the toilets.

I was at the very same spot last week in July and second week of September, loved the spot. Only bad experience was the rest rooms, In July some one had a turn bend and blow episode in two of the stalls, in September they were still in the same condition, HORRIBLE, never cleaned. Paper was changed several times but no cleaning.

Lovely campsites and very close to Miracle Hot Springs which are also great. Must reserve online in advance (which costs $8 extra) and the 28$ fee ($36 a night) is kinda pricey for a campground with only pit toilets, no water, no showers.

Not good pay to to reserve when I went to look for my spot someone else way staying there they said they 0ay for it also don't know how those work $100 for the days I was staying

For $36 a night, this campground could be better. There were no faucet water available. The restrooms are not well taken care of. We saw that some camp sites are exposed and sunny with no shade. We were lucky that we found a site with some tree coverage.

The map of the campground is terrible and recommend either calling the office or looking at a satellite view of the sites. Our site wasn’t appropriate for us and we couldn’t change it with the host so had to go find WiFi to change the reservation. Rather a hassle. Each campsite is very unique and different to each other. Miracle hot springs is open and 5 minute easy walk from campground. Really nice spot! We also drove some really nice and not too difficult off road trails in the area.

From Bakersfield, California travel approximately 37 miles east on CA 178. Turn right onto Borel Road, and drive about 1/3 of a mile until you reach Kern Canyon Road. Take a right onto Kern Canyon Road and continue for 1.7 miles until you see the sign for Hobo Campground, keep right to stay on the driveway. The driveway that splits to the left is the parking lot for Miracle Hot Springs.
Hobo Campground is accessible via CA 178, which is approximately 37 miles from Bakersfield. There are no interstates or freeways within 25 miles.

Policies & Rules
General
- Vehicles and their attachment cannot exceed 22 feet in length. Do not park on the vegetation. Trailers are restricted to utility and small teardrops due to legth restriction.
- Fire restrictions may be in effect at the time of your visit.
- A california campfire permit is required and be obtained at https://permit.preventwildfiresca.org/
- There is no glass allowed on the Sequoia National Forest.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash.
- Quiet hours are between .
