The campground offered a great overall experience, but cleanliness was a concern, with trash scattered and full outhouses. Campers suggested improvements for restroom access to enhance privacy for those who reserved the site. Implementing a key lock box for restrooms could help deter non-campers.

Juanita Lake is my favorite campground. I like how remote it is, how quiet, how dark, and how few people are there.

The outhouses were full and smelled! I would think they would be pumped at the end of last season or the beginning of start of this season!

Everything was great, but campground wasn’t clean trash was scattered from dumpster and we spent the first part of day cleaning the sight up. Also would be nice if the restrooms were specifically for those who reserve camp site. Multiple times during the night people would visit them which was disturbing. Maybe a key lock box so it deters others not paying?

From I-5 at Weed, CA travel northeast on State Hwy 97 approximately 35 mi to Ball Mtn Road. Turn west (left) on Ball Mtn Road and go approximately 4 mi to Forest Service Road 46N04. Turn right on 46N04 and continue to Juanita Lake and campground. ...

From the north, traveling south on Hwy 97, turn west (right) approximately 3.8 mi south of the town of Macdoel on the Ball Mtn. Road. Travel approximately 4 mi to Forest Service Road 46N04. Turn right on 46N04 and continue to Juanita Lake and campground.
Highway access
The Juanita Lake Group Campsite is accessible via State Hwy 97, which is approximately 35 miles from I-5 at Weed, CA. Ball Mountain Road provides access from Hwy 97 to the campsite.
